Mob Swarms Bank! Near Riot Ensues Reinforcements called in It was too late to call out the National Guard It was bad. Really bad. They swarmed in. From the South entrance of the shopping center. From the North entrance of the center. From the East and west entrances. We didn't know where they would come from next. We were surrounded in the parking lot. With cars and people all around us. Every place that you looked. We guess that somewhere between 200 and 400 cars showed up. We don't know for sure as we were too busy to count. There were somewhere between 1 and 4 people in each vehicle. That's a lot of people. Yep, it was a great success. It was our second annual Free Shred Day on Saturday, August 29th. We advertised that it would be from 10-Noon. By 9:15 AM, our parking lot was filed with cars that each had up to 5 boxes of documents to be shredded. The shred truck wasn't even there yet. By starting time at 10 AM, there was a hopeless traffic jam in and around the shopping center that the bank is located in. Monster CD Rates .70% The shred truck arrived shortly before 10 am. We asked the people to stay in their vehicles and our employees unloaded the boxes and dumped the contents in the shredder. It quickly became obvious that one young lady and three old guys weren't going to be able to handle the crowd so reinforcements were called in. Another young lady and another old guy showed up a itle later so there were six bank people unloading boxes from the cars for 2 hours. Wow. We won't need to go to the gym for a month after that. 25 Month CD Why were we jammed? Because we offered to shred up to 5 boxes of documents for free. It didn't matter it you were a customer or not. Just show up with the documents to be shredded and we'll take care of it. Some other banks previously had a free shred day every so often, But they don't anymore. Why not? Beats us. Too much work?
