Elvis Is Alive and Well in Joliet!! Of course it is true ....... Would we kid you? First off, there may be one or two people reading this ad that question the accuracy of our headline. For their information, our bank has strict advertising guidelines. No untruths. No exaggerations. No embellishments. We would never even think of violating our sacred advertising principles. Anyway, like the headline says, Elvis is alive and well and is living in Joliet. Some folks may have heard of Elvis Presley but don't know much about him. Elvis was born in Tupelo. Mississippi. His family moved to Memphis when he was 13 years old and lived in public housing. He attended L. C. Humes High School and only failed one class... music. He made his first recording when he was 19 with a unique sound called Rockabilly. That's a combination of rock music and, well, let's just say southern music. He signed a contract with RCA Victor when he was 20. He was an overnight success ...... until, at the age of 23, he was drafted into the army. When he left the army, he moved back to the US (with a 14 year old German girl that he met while on duty in Germany.) He resumed his career and was more popular than ever. He also looked and acted unique. Bushy sideburns. Vaseline hair and "rubber legs" dance movements. That also kinda describes a new customer that came into the bank recently. The new customer had sideburns, had slicked hair and was trying to talk with a deep voice. He was wearing a sequined jacket and blue suede shoes. He was also very nervous and kind of all shook up. He said that he wanted to open a free checking account. When our banker asked him his name, he replied that it was Elvis. When asked his address, he claimed that he lived in downtown Joliet in the heartbreak hotel. Our banker had a suspicious mind so she asked to see his driver's license. It didn't say Elvis. He asked her to not to be cruel to him and open an account in the name of Elvis. Our banker explained that she could only open an account with the name and address on his driver's license. So he did. She also asked him why he chose the First Secure Community Bank. He said that, unlike some other local banks. we have REAL free checking. He said that many other banks require a minimum of several thousand dollars or they charge you a fee. First Secure doesn't. So, you don't have to be a hound dog and investigate fees and minimums at other banks like Elvis did. If you want REAL free checking, come and see us. No devil fees in disguise here. If it is good enough for Joliet's Elvis, it's good enough for everyone.
